BOTOX®

Dr. Militello uses BOTOX® for both clinical and cosmetic indications.

Clinical Indications:

BOTOX® can be used for the clinical indications of blepharospasm (eyelid spasms), Meige's syndrome and hemifacial spasms to reduce the effects of these facial movement disorders. Common symptoms of these disorders are increased blinking, dry or watering eyes, and involuntary contractions of the muscles on one side of the face. Treatment with BOTOX® usually last approximately three months and is normally covered by your medical insurance.

Cosmetic Indications:

BOTOX® is used cosmetically to reduce facial lines around the eyes and mouth, such as glabellar furrows, crow's feet, and smoker's lines. BOTOX® works by reducing the contractions of the muscles that cause the lines that have developed over time. The injection process takes less than 10 minutes and there is no recovery time needed. As with all medical treatments, Dr. Militello will discuss the benefits and potential side effects with cosmetic BOTOX® before deciding of it is right for you.
